Ok, curious now.

If Annihilation gear doesn't have health or def increases when imbued, then why bother imbuing it at all? Or are there other increases to stats?

Ann gear does increase the health as you imbue, however if you compare both gears (reg diplo and ann) at say +5 the diplo gear will have more health.

Levia.. naked? Hard to say what those shamans do when they do the voodoo that they do.

Lol my +4 Annihilation greaves (dragoon) have more HP than +5 diplo greaves.. the only reason diplo kills annihilation in gear is because that once u resonate diplo it gets an extra 1-2k HP i think

Protip:

Anniliation gear starts out with more stats, but has less imbue bonus
Diplo starts out with less stats, but has more imbue bonus.

We already know diplos give more health (or most people know) with imbues but I'd love to see a comparative imbue chart so players can really valorate what should be they going for depending on their particular case.

Basically, Annihilation gear has less defense, less resistance, and less HP than Diplo resonance gears but Annihilation gear has better stats for everything else, comes pre-resonated, and uses Condensed Ethrelics.

Annihilation gear needs to have +1 imbue over the Diplo Resonance version to get more HP than the Diplo; however, Annihilation has +13% more Crit Cast, +75 more Int, +2 more Affinity, +150 Vigor, +2 more Resilience, +9 more Accuracy, +20% Nascence, and a lot more Mana.

Here's a comparison between the Diplo 90 Resonance and Annihilation Robes for Mystic / Conjurer:

As shown, the Annihilation imbue levels are under 1 imbue lower than Diplo Resonance 90.

I personally find no difference between imbuing success rate between Diplo and Annihilation. I have my Annihilation set at +6 and I've helped others get theirs to +6 also. Annihilation armor can also be 8 socketed, just like Diplo 90 Resonance.
