Fanart-Contest: Event #1 (Katsu Fox)

Good people of ESO! I bring you a weekly or bi-weekly contest (for as long as I play ESO) I will try to hold for those of you looking for an opportunity to show off your talents! I know many of you are brilliant artists and I am searching to find which ones of you have what it takes to win!

Who am I you may ask? I am a big fan of Fanart be it anime, mmorpg characters, or all of the above. Why am I doing this? Here on the ESO forums there aren't many active artists running about so I'm hoping these contests will spice up things a bit and get more people to upload their hidden talents! Please don't mind the fact that I am Lv5 -- this is my mule and 24/7 character! (check the top 100 'by gold' rankings and I should be in there) xD Why should you trust me? Well unfortunately with video games/forums it's hard to trust someone who isn't a MOD/GM and (currently) only 2 posts. So for this first event, trusting me or not, submit something for the fun of it! I'm sure when the prizes go around and people know this isn't a really lame hoax to waste your time/efforts, more players will want to join in!

This week's theme is a Katsu Fox! Your artwork can be done however you like, crayons, pencil, digitally done in photoshop or whatever you want. I (and hopefully clan members) will be judging the artwork by the end of the contest and picking out a winner. For this first time, seeing as it's the middle of the week already I'll make the due date October 31, Saturday 23:59 PST. Contest winners will be selected soon after and announced the following day!

The rules:

1. The artwork must be your own, copying of any sort will not be tolerated
2. All submissions must be new (nothing from previous works/contests will be counted)
3. All submissions must be in good taste (this is a PG game after all)
4. You may submit more than one image, but allowed only one identified entry
5. One dimension of the artwork size should at least be 500px
6. Please upload your artwork to an easily accessible site: deviantart, imageshack, photobucket, etc.
7. Please post or link the image here on the forum topic for everyone to see!
8. Please do not harass artists; keep all critical comments to yourself
9. The artwork must pertain to the theme of the current week's contest
10. Please provide your IGN for me to mail you the gold prize
11. For equal opportunity contestants may not win two weeks consecutively
12. Seeing as I only have gold on AR, I'm sorry but I can only award those players -- if FP players would like to submit their artwork for fun they are welcome to do so
13. Most importantly, have fun!

The prizes:

• If there are at least 5 entries, the prizes will be 1st: 50g, 2nd: 20g, 3rd: 10g
• If there are at least 10 entries, the prizes will be 1st: 100g, 2nd: 40g, 3rd: 20g

Although I'd like for there to be at least 5~10 pieces of artwork to judge, I really don't know if there will be ANY entries. So spread the word! ^^ The prizes are small for now, and definitely not what GMs can provide, but I'm not a money tree and this is just the first time! If this becomes successful, I will be more willing to provide larger prizes! I just don't want the incentive to be the amount of gold to win -- again, this is supposed to be for fun. So let's hope for the best & I wish you all luck!

Still no entries? (besides MXLariss that is) T__T I may have to extend the submission date if there aren't at least five (5) participants. I'd like to see some activity please!

Or even posts without entries are welcome -- let me know what you think of this contest/event. If you have comments, opinions, (no flames), or thoughts on how I can improve or make this more attractive for the coming contests please tell me! Please just don't say "make the prizes higher". ^^;;

I'm planning on entering as soon as I get my projects done for the week... I think it just needs to be advertised more. Perhaps ask your clan and/or alliance members to add a little note in their signature too if they post often?

I agree, I should advertise it more. I was shouting it on TR quite a bit but perhaps my shouts were ignored. And as for my clan mates, that's a great idea -- but unfortunately I don't see any at all on the forums. xD That's sort of ridiculous really since there are quite a few members unless they use alternate characters to post.

All forms of media are allowed. But I do notice that you are on Fort Phoenix, and unfortunately I don't have any funds on that server -- but I encourage you to enter for fun anyway. ^^;;
